It takes about 20 minutes drive through the picturesque terrain to get to the town of Rishikesh and around 45 minutes to Dehradun city.
The Airports Authority of India has expanded the runway at the airport.
It is connected to Delhi with Indian Airlines having five flights a week from Delhi to this airport.
